Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is an ancient medical system originating from China that dates back to approximately 5000 years ago. The uniqueness of TCM lies in its seamless combination of art and science. While the foundations of TCM may stem from abstract concepts such as the yin yang and five elements theories, its methodology is comprised of a vast knowledge in physiology, anatomy, and pharmacology. The definition of maintaining optimal health in the perspective of TCM is achieving harmony of the body, mind, and spirit.
TCM also views each person as a unique being, and, due to this, a differential diagnosis is performed individually, and the corresponding treatment method will be tailored to each case. The major forms of TCM treatment are acupuncture and herbs, with accompanying methods such as cupping, tui-na, tai-chi, and food cures. As a form of medicine practiced for an abiding length of time in history, it is effective in treating a broad scope of illnesses, and can undoubtedly help improve one’s health condition.
A table of illnesses that have been recorded to be treatable by TCM can be found in the Q&A section.

As a TCM Doctor and an advocate of ancient Chinese culture, I have developed an admiration and respect towards tea, both as a beverage and as a culture. Tea drinking began in ancient China, and has since become a staple drink within the culture due to its medicinal and ceremonial values. In Chinese Medicine, tea therapy continues to be a major component of dietary therapy, as the brewing of herbs and tea leaves are used to achieve therapeutic effects. While culturally, tea ceremonies remain integral to rituals often performed during special occasions such as weddings, elders’ birthdays and even funerals.
This spring has been unlike any other spring we've experienced, and with a health crisis toppling over the usual flu & allergy season, I was inspired to innovate a series of herbal tea blends to strengthen Lung Qi, calm allergies, and boost general immunity, in an effort to assist our bodies through these rough times. After spending weeks to perfect the formula and refine the taste, I am proud to announce that they are officially ready to be pre-ordered at @paragontearoom ! I promise that they will be a flavourful addition to your daily beverage rituals, and will support your body through these hardships.
